Mother's day

Happy mother's day to me. I am saying it myself because no one cares to say it to me in my house. Why do i even bother.

Milestone

Well Trace is starting to get the hang of the potty. He now has the control to stop the flow and he knows he needs to sit on the potty until he goes after every dirty diaper. I trust he will just learn what the urge to go potty is before he wets a diaper.
still having sleeping issues but getting curtains for his room now.
Found out that he is approx 29lbs average weight
But he is approx 33" and that is in the lowest percentile for his age. We will see what comes of that.
He got to go out and see Fire trucks at the st johns touch a truck thing. Spent most that day there. Then went to two cook outs the next day.
He has an addiction to books now. He carried around a counting book all day yesterday.. He found many different places to read it and even went to bed with it. He is so smart. He names the objects and a few of the numbers in it.
Trace has a girlfriend.!! I guess he is into older girls. She is 6 months older than him but they seem to be fast friends.

SO CUTE!

as for child 2.0
killing me!
the baby is now moving early morning the baby balls up and you can really see the signs of pregnancy.
other than that not much weight gain for me. Still wearing my regular clothes. Still sick as heck and anything I eat makes me ill.
I take a daily prenatal vitamin so I should be ok.
I feel so sick right now

Trace and child 2.0

Family:
We have us, Jason Kusnier, and Krista (Metcalf) Kusnier
then we have our first child Trace Edison Kusnier who is now 2 years and 5 months old.
we also have what my husband affectionately calls child 2.0 that I am pregnant with.

I feel bad to write about Trace now because I do not have much recorded about him until now. I just want to assure him (if he happens to read this in the future) that this is not because I am more excited about this child and that is why there are more records about this pregnancy it is because I finally have the time and have a good blog site to do this with. Plus Jason is making me have more hobbies to keep me busy :)

A little history of Trace
The pregnancy with him was AWFUL! Being a first time mom I was worried about everything. We had wanted to have a child after we got married and we had not protected against pregnancy for two years before we were married, but after we were married we tried with doctor's help. The day before I was to get my first shots to help with fertility I was surprised to find out I was already pregnant through a home test. Happy day! Jason was nervously happy.
After going to a doctor that had overdosed me on hormones to maintain pregnancy (which actually made my body think it was having more than one baby) I had became HUGE! and FAST!
at three months I looked 7 months and by the time the last trimester came around I was unable to walk I was so big! Not only that but the whole summer I was pregnant and there was not enough AC in the world to keep Me cool .
my beginning weight when I became pregnant was 125-130 I think. I had gained a lot of weight prior to the pregnancy because I was on paxil and found it was making me gain lots of weight. I switched to zoloft during the pregnancy to be on the safe side. I do think the zoloft may have played a small role in the weight gain during pregnancy too.
I had worried that I had been pregnant with twins up until 20 week checkup where we found out we were having a boy. Now it was a joke with everyone that with jason's smoking and drinking at that time that jason was going to have a girl. He really did want to have a boy first because he wanted someone he could rough-house with. He also liked the idea of having someone like him around. He seemed to understand male children more. Not that he did not want a girl but with this being his first child I think he thought girls as more delicate and so on. So that day when we found out that it's a boy he smiled a big goofy grin and I had lost the bet. It did not matter to me what I had. I knew it will be a challenge and a blessing either way.
but just to see that smile on jason's face, it was funny.
So after many months miserable and a few trips to the emergency room from dehydration and early labor I was induced the night before the due date and had him the next day on the due date. The labor was easy, everything was easy. A little nausea from having the epidural inserted but nothing bad for me. The only complication is that when trace was born the umbilical cord wrapped his neck causing him to not breathe for a while. But after they worked on him he seemed to be fine.
two years later there seems to be no effects from that at all.
the first year of trace's life was eventful. He became real sick with a flu around three months and so did I. I had to stop breast feeding him so I could take the only antibiotics that I was not allergic to. Trace was good at taking to the bottle but we had problems with constipation so we started to try to get him to drink water. He was in such pain from the constipation. We tried anything to get him to drink water. We put jello, kool aid, and karo syrup in his water but he did not like any of those for too long. He did seem to love sweet n low in his water to. So ever since then he has been drinking many bottles of sweet n low water a day. It cured his constipation.
so after that we had to deal with him sleeping.
he did not sleep at nights without sleeping with me. I did not get any sleep at all.
He started walking around 10 months. Which was nice and around then I think we decided to make him sleep on his own
we had to just let him cry it out for a few weeks then he started to sleep all night long unless he was teething or sick.
he had all his baby teeth in since he was 1, heck he had his first 8 since he was 6 months old. The first teeth he had no issue with but the molars bothered him some.
he was only sick when exposed to other children who were sick so his immune system was pretty good. He was able to fight off the colds and infections without the help of antibiotics. Even with bad flu he fought it off with tylenol and motrin so he seems to be pretty tough when sick.
I attribute it to his hydration.
from three months to about a year he had eaten nothing but fruit and cereal (baby stuff) he hate it a lot. Then he started eating on his own with finger foods.
he started to play on his on after the first year and just being content by himself. he had a language of his own and he got frustrated when I did not understand what he was trying to tell me.
He was quick to throw tantrums out of this frustration. He would often bang his head into the hardwood floor. We did not give into these and he has stopped doing it as much since he has learned to say some more words.
but from 1-2 he was constantly running. Everywhere he went. Exploring, climbing, very active.
nw he is two and he is saying small words.
his first actual word he had said around 1 year was daddy. His first amazing thing he did was giving kisses around a year and a half.
he gives kisses when saying good bye and when people are sad. He really has a nack to cheering people up.
Now he eats on his own. Asks for food, asks for water (still drinks out of a transition bottle but when he can understand fully what we say we will try to reason with him into drinking out of something else)
his new feat this last month is taking off his own diaper, throwing it away on his own, then getting a new one for me to change him with. Unfortunately some accidents have happened on the floor, but at least this is the first signs of him wanting to potty train. Trace likes to do things at his own pace so we go with this.
today was new because the diaper was off and he put it into the trash in the bathroom. He then went to the toilet so I helped him sit there for a while and then we did the steps to going potty (without him actually going) but he is starting to put two and two together.. On his own
We are having issues with bedtime. For about a year he has been good at the 8:00 thing until this last time change. We will b trying out some blinds soon and letting him cry it out if we have t but he has been moody since he has not gotten the appropriate sleep.. Momma has been moody too :)

Child 2.0

jason thinks that name is funny
If it is a girl we had already had a girls name in mind. We knew we were going to name a boy trace four years before we had him. Edison for the middle name was chosen while i was pregnant with him. I wanted to do a name of intelligence. A great thinkers name. A name he might want to call himself as a man. Also it just fit in that his initials are TEK. Some people still call him that. For some reason I have called him booga' and if anyone wants to know it is from the movie tank girl. There was a character called booger and there was a point in the movie where she had said it as booga'. So instead of calling him booger like the guy on revenge of the nerds I called him booga' . Which sounds bad now my husband does it in chant and it sounds like a frat nickname that would be shouted at the beer bong almost like the chant TOGA! TOGA!
Well for a girl name we had chosen Lilly Fae.
My favorite flowers are lilly and fae named after the fay side of my family and the lore of fairy.
for a boy we do not know. I have thrown out every name and jason shot them all down. He will worry about it when we find the sex out, but only then.
he will choose the boys name.. He chose trace
the story behind that was he was working at voyager.net tech lines and an old man did not hear correctly when he said jason and called him trace through the whole call.
that day he came home and told me the whole story and said it was a cool name, from that day on it was planned.
now Child 2.0
I am roughly 12 weeks along.. Doing ok. Lost weight some. In a little pain. Not on zoloft since trace was born.
due date is between Nov 6-11th
everything checks out just fine. Next appointment is on the 30th and approx 6-7 more weeks until we find out the sex!
